We decided to take Stanley to Russell pond for the first time, it was a little chilly, my husband wanted him to experience the pond as a “puppy” so he wouldn’t be frightened by big pools of water later on in life. Our pool is different because as a dog, you can’t casually walk into the pool as you can at the pond. Stanley refuses to walk down the pool steps so the only way to get him into the pool is to carry him and he has never been on board with that idea. So as you can see, Stanley walked in the water under his own steam, he didn’t get very far, but at least he knows nothing uncomfortable will happen if he walks into a large body of water.
