goals, NaNoWriMo challenge, postaday2012, word count, writing goals

Today I wrote the last 3000 words, I typed the last word at 11:00 and I uploaded the entire 50,140 words, 70 pages in total, onto the NaNoWriMo website and then I got up and did a happy dance, hooray! I am relieved to be done for now, I have to get back to my novel to finish it, I know, but for now I am taking a few days to relax.

A light snow has been falling all day here in Blandford and little Jack was non to thrilled to be dragged outside to do his usual walks, even with his coat on. If you could hear me talking to Jack over my shoulder, trying to egg him on saying “come one Jack, Maman is getting snowed on as well and it isn’t that bad. Come on Jack, the faster you walk the faster we’ll be home and it’s not as if I’m making you walk all alone, I’m with you getting cold as soon as we get back I’ll make you a fire”

In the midst and in between all that drama, the drama with Jack was each and every time we went out. I loaded up the library with wood and the baby boy came by to check on his Maman and helped me bring in a huge mess of firewood into the garage, out of the snow.

I am not thinking about my novel for a few days instead I am going to finish the Christmas tree and finish decorating the rest of the house.

I feel good about what I did today,:)

postaday2012, power through, thanksgiving week, writing, writing goals

Today is day twenty of the NaNoWriMo challenge and I spent most of the day powering through another 10,000 words to get me to 37,000 words, only 13,000 to go in 10 days time. I have to say that having Thanksgiving coincide with NaNoWriMo puts some added stress on the writing challenge.
Tomorrow is a bit booked up, I have my annual dermatologist appointment, make sure everything is copacetic in the skin department. Always very important for everyone in general with the higher incidence of skin cancer and being a skin cancer survivor, it adds a bit more impetus to the annual screening. Before my doctor’s appointment I am going to make the pie crusts for the two pumpkin pies that I am making for Thanksgiving. I am also going to do the food shopping for the feast on Thursday and when I get back from all of my errands after I unload the car and put all the groceries away, I am going to bring in all the firewood from outside into the dryness of the garage. So to or row s going to be a full day without writing. Never mind Thursday and Friday, those two days will be dedicated to family and the weekend is never much of a good time for serious writing either.

I am going to gear up for next week to steam through the last portion of writing to squeak towards the 50,000 word count goal. I am getting close to the ending of my story, I can feel it and so does my heroine, we are feeling a bit of angst right about now, she and I. Our hero is oblivious to our anxiety for now but that will change and soon. Their closeness will amplify with this angst, it should be interesting.

Confessions of a NaNoWriMo slacker

postaday2012, target, word count, writing, writing goals

Yes I have a confession to make, I am slacking off with my NaNoWriMo daily word target. It is day 11 and I have a measly 8500 words written and it is almost day 12. It isn’t due to lack of story, it is due to spending my weekends with my hubby because that is the only time we have together. What I really need to do, is put in the extra writing during the week to make up for the two days of not writing. That is completely on me, not my hubby, I have to stop being lazy/procrastinating or whatever I am doing that is standing in my way of writing fluidly without an constraint.

Depending on my mood, I tell myself that I will eventually get into high gear and I will sit there at the computer and churn out my ending to this journey and novel. Then there are days that I tell myself that I needn’t stress myself over the 50,000 word count, it is a goal, the most important thing is to continue writing my book and it will write itself, stress not included.

So far Madeleine and Jack are so very head over heels in love, visiting Madeleine’s family in the countryside and buying souvenirs at the local market. All that remains is getting these two lovebirds on a boat to New York city. I can see myself in France forever with these two but then I would be writing their love story forever, the story needs to move and I don’t want to, France is so nice.

I have to commit to moving them off to New York, must book a cabin soon. Arghh, writing is hard, the describing and the typing, it’s so much work yet I love it so. Alright, enough complaining. I have made my confession, I will do better.
