My peony is huge this year and during the two day rain storm, its heavy buds had forced the blossoms to the ground so I decided to cut two blossoms and bring them in the house. As I was cutting, I thought of Monet’s Waterlilies and I decided to improvise.
I should have gotten some type of support for my peony, but I thought of it way too late in the game. It’s one of those things that I tell myself, “I’ll make sure to do it next year” and then I forget.
I do like what I did with the blossoms, however the peonies didn’t last too long, Jack attacked one of the peony’s and killed it. He has been on a killing streak lately, bunnies and today was a chipmunk before the peony. He is an equal opportunity hunter. Lulu hasn’t joined in the killing spree thank goodness.
She is more of a lounger.
