I just can’t write today, making soup was possible but writing was just too much. I’ll do better tomorrow. The pain was too much.

Today’s bloom was so important, I had another bad day, dehydrated and weak, a slight fever. My nurses discovered it very quickly after my 28th day of radiation, the entire day felt surreal, I couldn’t keep my eyes open, thank goodness my daughter was there, I felt so disjointed and lost. We spent a few hours with the nurses and doctors  and they patched me back up, I could see  how worried they were, they refused to accept the words dehydrated. I’m lucky they didn’t because either wise I wouldn’t be in much better spirits. This is getting to be a very long journey, I hope that the end of the journey will be a good one where I will have learned a great deal, not just about myself but also about my place within the world,

Our daughter is a champion driver and I am thankful for her driving prowess, she got us home safe and sound. I am so tired, it’s unbelievable. I hope you enjoy the pictures, wintry scenes in Blandford are often spectacular.

My radiation treatments makes some sort of sense, the chemo…?

This photo was just a week ago and you can see the redness start to really develop around my upper chest area because of the radiation. Today was my 7th radiation out from the 33 total, I am almost home free, hooray!

Today is definitely not looking as good. It looks horrible but I find this easier to deal with then the chemo. Chemo makes me so tired and ill, it also messes up with my internal temperature and it is killing my taste buds and tastes all at the same time. I am having a harder time dealing with chemo even if the chemo is only every other week. Crazy isn’t?

I am feeling excited about having a week left of radiation, however,  I still have four chemo treatments left and it seems to be a lot. Maybe I won’t feel like that when it will be the chemo separated away from the radiation and dealing with one torture at a time is easier?

I’m getting there, little be little.

I’m back on the Merry-Go-Round

As you can see the Merry-Go-Round takes the wind out of you. I’m happy that the weekend’s worth of shots did its job and got my white cell count up to a respectable number. On Wednesday I get the portable chemo thing out and on Friday I think I’m getting a new port placed on my left side instead of using my temporary PIC on my right arm.

The girls down at radiation greeted me with happy news, after today’s session I only have seven left!  Radiation has kicked my buttocks a bit, it’s really, really hard but there is the light getting brighter at the end of the tunnel. And not a moment too soon!

I am exhausted so I’ll see you guys tomorrow.

It’s mid February and I’m fooling around with plants.

Remember the beautiful orchid my son got me? It lasted quite a long while in bloom, I read that if you wanted to continue having blooms, you needed to transplant the orchid, once the original blooms started to fade.

With the warm weekend, I felt inspired this morning to transplant my orchid from its decorative pot to its permanent glass bowl, I hope I did it correctly, I followed the instructions on E-How to transplant my orchid. LOL I’ve never done this before, I’ve only tried to keep them alive, keeping them in their original pots and they have all died so I hope this time I am lucky.

The Calla Lilies, next to my transplanted orchid, are going to need to be cared for until I can transplant them outside, they are perennials, so I’m sure I can find a nice little home for these guys come Spring; maybe I can fit them in with my new primroses that I have to keep alive as well.I have a small “nursery” at this point that I must nurture for a fairly long stretch that seems to get bigger each fall. LOL

hospital, postaday2016

What a glorious day! We needed to return to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in order for me to get one of my two shots over the weekend, the shots are called neupogen injections and they will help increase my white blood cell count so that I may continue with my chemo and my radiation treatments. After the injection, easy as pie, we went for sushi, I didn’t eat anything raw, I had shrimp tempura and eel in two different specialty rolls while my husband and our daughter ate sushi. Afterwards we took a nice long stroll and back home.

The 4 nights I spent in the hospital were tough, I had to wait for pain medication while they figured out my needs and such, I couldn’t just get up and take something, waiting is very hard when you are in a lot of pain. I’m happy I’m home. However I was grateful to be under the care of those wonderful nurses and doctors; their names or at least some their names are: my Doctors Sean, Z , Rockwell and Chavani with the help of nurses Jeanne, Kim, Mary, and Barb. I had a great team. I can’t forget my radiation team, nurses Sara, Mary and I am having a brain cloud, well they know who they are and how wonderfully they help me. I’m tired now.

I am very lucky and I wake up every day knowing full well how lucky I am.

Welcome Home to me!

I am trying to keep up my pace of writing, and I am being really kind to myself when I call it a writing pace, LOL. I am not giving up, just forgive me if at some points you read pure gibberish because I sleep talk, sleep walk and now sleep write. There aren’t enough days in the week or hours in the day to make sure I don’t publish something ridiculous or awful.
I am just so tired, tired, tired, all I want to do is sleep, perhaps eat and then write, all in that order.
