Is there “junk” in your life? What kind? How do you get rid of it?
I prefer to not call it junk. Junk isn't a very nice word. My hubby and I have accumulated many things over the years, especially copper things. We both have an adoration for all things copper. Copper in the kitchen makes sense because it is an excellent heat conduit and it also provides something to the process of mounting egg whites into snowy peaks as well as whipping chilled cream into high firm mounds for your delectable desserts. It is also simply beautiful to look at and it has character.
But copper isn't the only thing that adorns our home and our mantles. We have souvenirs, we have mementos, we have collectibles. Essentially we have many things that remind us of a moment in time and collects dust at the same time. I think that the dust magnetism of all of these possessions is the primary reason as to why I have been contemplating holding a tag sale. I despise dusting, always have and always will. Mostly because I have severe allergies and dusting is the one chore that aggravates them to no end.
One of these years, my hubby and I will move into a smaller home and we will go minimalist, a few key pieces and that is it. At least that is the plan that I have in the back of my mind.
I have had that plan for 17 years, but we just tend to fill up whatever space we have 😦
I know, having the plan isn’t the issue, it’s executing the plan that is problematic. 😀
