This is a must see movie for anyone who has ever had a curiosity for space. All those who have dreamt of being an astronaut or fell in love with Star Wars or felt the pull of Patrick Stewart’s magnificent voice when he spoke the words ‘Space the final frontier…” should go see this movie.

My hubby used the word enthralled, I would use engrossed, mesmerized, these are the emotions that we felt for the entirety of the movie. I felt as if I were in space looking in on Sandra Bullock and George Clooney doing their respective jobs while on their mission. That is why I am emphatic about why you should see this movie, it reminded me of the similar sensation that I had back in 1997 when I saw Star Wars for the first time. It was a unique sensation and you think that you can not reclaim that sensation, but here after seeing Gravity, I can safely say that the feeling came back again.

I won’t say anything else about the movie except go see it.

A bend in time

When you’re giddy with excitement, does time speed up? Slow down? Tell us about the experience of anticipation.

Time had changed since I have gotten older. I remember when it came to waiting for things when I was little that time crawled by excruciatingly slow, it was almost painful to bear, waiting for whatever I was waiting for to come to pass. Nowadays no matter what awaits, be it good bad or indifferent, time is no longer taking its time, it moves with a constancy or consistancy that I wish would let up.

I wish that the feeling of anticipation would be as it used to be, I can't help but hear Carly Simon's beautiful voice in my head singing "anticipation is making me wait" but it no longer does, perhaps because there is always something that needs to be done, that the hours and days melt into each other so easily that before I know it, the moment has arrived and all too quickly the anticipation is gone, way too quickly.

I would love time to seem to stand as still as it did in the Septembers of grammar school, where summer seemed eons away. That would be wonderful, now even though I adore the summer I am not looking forward to it because I don't want to speed up the clock, it is already ticking way too fast. One day at a time is how I like it, better to appreciate each minute in the present than spend time anticipating for the future and losing out on the precious time right in front of you.
