I decided to plant the mums in the front to give a much needed pop to the front, since with all of the road work that has been going on, some beauty is very welcome.

I have to make sure that next spring when all the new sprouts come up from their dormancy, that I don’t mistaken the new growth for weeds. I have made that mistake before and lost a few plants due to my overzealous weeding. Oops.

Another reason why I really hope that they come back is that it will add a new layer to my front garden, I’ll have continual color from spring through summer and then fall. That is what most gardeners strive for that seasonal palette. It is much harder than it seems to do well. But as the saying goes “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again”
