Friday afternoon traffic out of New York, my hubby’s nemesis. He hates traffic, I know most do, I don’t mind it as much, at some point it does ease up. And why get upset over something you can’t change?

I can’t wait to see Jack, our baby canine boy. The human baby boy will probably be with his buddies or at work when we get home. So the only one waiting anxiously for us at home is Jack. That is what happens when the little ones get old, they don’t look to be with you as much as they used to. My hubby and I are resigned to the fact that only Jack lives for our company.

We aren’t part of the cool crowd, we’re just the parents. Lol

Another school semester will soon begin. If you’re in school, are you looking forward to starting classes? If you’re out of school, what do you miss about it — or are you glad those days are over?

I remember going with my sister and my mother to all the stores on the rue Sainte Catherine in Bordeaux, France for all of our back to school clothes and then we would go to Geant Casino for the back to school supplies. My sister and I would start the school semester all decked out in the newest French fall fashion which had nothing to do with with what was going on fashion wise in the U.S. Back in grammar school, it wasn't a big deal because my sister and I wore Catholic school uniforms, but when high school started, it was hard because being an insecure teenager, I didn't understand that being unique and different was in fact a good thing, no I wanted to be like the other girls. So I didn't quite appreciate how lucky I was to have a mother who wanted to get fun new clothes overseas so that her girls looked really nice for school. Being a mother myself, I really appreciate now where my mother was coming from back then, I wish sometimes that I could go back in time and show her some gratitude in that long ago moment.

Do I miss school, not high school, but I do miss the college years at N.Y.U. The sense of possibility and opportunity was intoxicating and it was pervasive everywhere on the N.Y.U campus in the village.
