The baby girl, my hubby and I went to go see the second installment of Rick Riordan’s series of Percy Jackson, the son of Poseidon. I love Greek Mythology and I think that any writer who can make Greek Mythology appealing to the youngins is a great writer in my book and my baby girl raves about Rick Riordan. This adventure saw Percy and his ever loyal friends seek the Golden Fleece to help their special tree that protects their camp from dangerous adversaries seeking to do them harm. The whole story behind their special tree is very moving and fits in so beautifully with a common theme in Greek Mythology, that humans are interconnected with all life on Mother Earth, or Gaia as she was known to the ancient Greeks. There was also the all too common parent versus offspring theme that runs rampant throughout Greek mythology and history.
I don’t want to give anything away but I can assure you that it was a good movie and the previews were so much fun. I haven’t seen so many great previews aimed for the little ones in a long time. There seems to be a lot of great children’s movies coming up for the holiday season. Be prepared parents.:)
