Maybe I shouldn’t have been taken in by the low advertised price, we are still in winter by golly, so what was I thinking, purchasing green seedless grapes on sale Sunday?

I was so looking forward to eating my grapes this afternoon while watching my stories on t.v, that is how my friend’s mothers used to call soap operas when I was little, their stories. I had put the grapes in the refrigerator to have them nice and crisp, perfect for snacking so imagine my supreme disappointment when grape after grape yielded sour notes in my mouth. The first explosion of sourness, I figured was a fluke, but it was every single grape; I was eating sour grapes literally, argh!!!! I am going to force myself to finish my bag of grapes but I tell you that it made me sad, I was looking forward to firm, crispy, sweet grapes, but no.

A video showing why I love Cap Ferret so much

I was perusing Facebook to see what was new if anything and I saw that my cousin Leon had posted a YouTube video of Lege-Cap Ferret. The video shows the area of the Bassin, the Bay, at low tide in the beginning, but I find that even with all of the fishing boats laying on their side, where they would normally be floating at high tide, somehow romantic and picturesque. As the video plays along you get to see sunrise and sunset on the bay and on the beach. You also get to see the oyster and mussel beds where the region’s bounty is harvested. You get to see the wilderness and the sense that man hasn’t yet conquered all. My earliest memories of France are there at Cap ferret, my interpretation of paradise.
