I have been tagged by my mentor and friend Tilly Bud of the Laughing Housewife fame as The Next Big Thing. It involves bloggers who either have a book under their belt, or are in the process of writing one or should be writing one.
Normally I don’t partake in these award ceremonies, not that I am nominated often, but since this has to do with a book that I am working on, I feel that it will be another shove in the right direction of finishing my book. The rules are simple; answer a few questions regarding your work if it is done or in process or even if it is only in your head and then tag five other bloggers whom you feel are on the book writing path.

Where did the idea come from for your book?
My great great aunt from Paris, France is famous in our family, on my father’s side, for coming over to New York during Prohibition, making booze and going back home to France with a lot of money.

Historical fiction
Which actors would you choose to play in your movie rendition?
Madeleine : I am thinking a French actress who speaks English beautifully so it would be Audrey Tatou

What is a one-sentence synopsis of your book?
A book of love, romance and adventure set against the most romantic city in the world and ending in the most violent city at the time.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
I will be sending it to publishers in the hope of being published but if I have to; I am ready to do the work necessary to self-publish.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
Two years and counting.

What other books would you compare this story to?
There are several, I am sure that are historical in nature but are fictionalized but I don’t know of any based on actual bootleggers who were women.

Who or what inspired you to write the book?
The National November Writing Month challenge and the need to write a novel to get it out of my system.

I write a lot about food, cooking and eating.
