Today a day of ordinary

Today the baby girl and I stayed at Tantine and Tonton’s house in Begles. The only time that I left the house was the errand I ran at the post office near the house. I went to get a box that I can ship to the United States because tomorrow the baby girl and I will be going together into the city to go clothes shopping for school. Since the bags are stuffed we need to expedite. I have to say that I was impressed with our local post office, it was given a swanky face lift since the last time I was here. Not only is the post office in France alive and kicking, unlike back home, it offers prepaid cell phones, credit cards, savings accounts and checking accounts, I knew about the banking offerings at the post office but I wasn’t aware of how much more they had expanded, giving the private sector a run for its money. Our Postmaster General should come over here for a look-see to get inspired, it certainly wouldn’t hurt. I also went to the neighborhood supermarket to get some pate and some more throat lozenges, my throat has been really bothering me lately. Aside from that, it was both lunch and dinner here at Begles, talking, laughing and watching some t.v, a beautiful ordinary day.

Rainbows

Good question, supposedly a pot of gold and leprechans. I however imagine something different. I see a beautiful meadow filled with sunflowers raising their heads to welcome a sun peeking its glorious face from behind the spent rain clouds.

I am reblogging some excellent advice from my blogging mentor. I am so glad that I found her and I have my writing buddy over at Wee Scoops to thank for my introduction into the wonderful world of Tilly Bud.

A lot of my subscribers are fairly new bloggers  (which, I suspect, is why they subscribe here – they don’t know any better).

Thank you, new subscribers, for subscribing, however misguided you may be.

Formalities over and naming no names, I have noticed some common errors on my visits to your new blogs, and I thought I would give you some tips that I wish had been given to me early on in my own blogging career:

  • Use no more than ten tags, including the category.  Any more than that and search engines think you are spam and put you to the bottom of the list.  Good tags encourage more hits.  Failing that, they garner amusing searches which you can shamelessly turn into their own posts.  Or is that just me?
  • Break up paragraphs.  It is difficult to read one huge block of text; people don’t have time to persevere or just can’t be…
