As I had written yesterday, the baby girl and I are going to France to visit with our family. My parents having come over here from France in 1967 makes my sister and I children of immigrants. France having their policy the way it is recognizes my sister and I as French nationals as well. Being the case, my mother made sure that my sister and I had our French passports when we were traveling during the 1980’s because in those days being caught with an American one could have been dicey. Once my hubby and I had the babies, I wanted them to have French passports as well because if ever they wanted to study abroad it would only help them. You can never have too many options in life. So now that the baby girl and I are all sorted out with our French passports and such, I am now in the process of finalizing our travel plans.
I’m getting a little stressed thinking about luggage and packing, we are going for four weeks time so the weather, laundering and having to carry the baggage from one destination to another are all percolating in my head. I’m also thinking about my blog, access to wi-fi, cell phones and booking train reservations and hostel reservations. It’s been awhile since we’ve been to France and I am expecting a lot of changes but I don’t exactly know what kind of changes to expect. I am hoping to at least post a running itinerary of what we are doing, what we are seeing and what we are eating. I just can’t wait to explore the streets of Paris, I want to take the baby girl to Angelina’s salon which has been around since at least the 1920’s if not longer. We are definitely going to see museum after museum, stroll down the Champs Élysées and have a picnic in the Bois de Bologne. The Eiffel Tour is definitely a stop on our schedule. After our time in Paris we are going to Rouen to spend time with my cousins but for now I’m focusing on Paris and what we are going to do there during our short stay.
