It has tickled the back of my mind from time to time because I love cooking and baking. However, having grown up in the restaurant business with my father and seeing first hand how hard it is; the long hours, the high possibility of failure and the stresses that occur everyday. I keep my cooking and baking right here in my kitchen where it belongs.
Laurie, I have worked in all areas of restaurants for much longer than I’d Luke to admit. I have done everything from prep to waiting to kitchen manager to bartender. I have been offered and asked many times “don’t you and your husband (a chef) want to have your own restaurant?” Answer? No way!! 🙂
I think they have a name for us, the wounded warriors. I didn’t realize that we share that in common as well. I have done everything in a restaurant as well, it was fun with Papa though. He taught me so much. Maman told me that your husband is a chef, dinner at your house must be awesome between the two of you!!
