Easter was spent in New York with my mother, us four, my sister, my brother-in-law, my niece and my nephew. Since my two are young adults, the Easter bunny is no longer the main attraction, good chocolate and a well designed holiday menu is what counts for my two. Today, both of them were quite satisfied on both counts. The baby girl had ample chocolate, the baby boy doesn’t care for sweets, his palate extends to the savory, so he was quite happy with the spring greens salad, the marinated lamb on the grill, roasted asparagus and gratin dauphinois. The salad was accompanied with sautéed soft-shell crab with lemon and butter, my son isn’t crazy about them but the baby girl loves them. Even the little one’s, my niece and nephew, took the excitement over the Easter bunny down a notch and settled down for the meal before losing patience and asking to be excused so that they can attack their Easter baskets with wild abandon. I am so happy that my small family still has little one’s, they bring so much joy, wonderment and enthusiasm to everything.
