My Favorite Comedian

Acting is Standing up naked and turning around very slowly

There is one that I never get sick of and that is Steven Wright. He isn’t showcased as often as I’d like but I find his humor to be tremendous and courageous. Chris Rock is a definite pick, Louis C. K who has his own sitcom is very funny. I don’t like the comedians who yell, scream and curse without a commentary to back it up, it all seems very gratuitous just to get laughs.

Today is the baby girl’s birthday party that the hubby and I didn’t have to plan, decorate or bake for, the easiest party we have ever thrown ever. Our town hall has a gymnasium that is available to our town members for private events, so tonight that is the venue for the baby girl’s party. Her and her close friends are decorating the gymnasium right as I am writing this post. Early this afternoon, we all went down to town to pick up the balloons and the cotton candy machine, the soda, the pretzels and chips and the special birthday cake and we ordered the pizza from our local pizza shop. All the hubby and I have to do is pick up the pizza, act as delivery boys and deliver them their pizzas. We’ll be chaperones but only to make sure that the noise level and the party animals don’t get out of hand. Which I’m sure won’t happen. I hope that the baby girl has an awesome party and that her friends have a grand time.

Obama Responds To Heckler During Energy Speech: ‘You’re Being Rude’

President Obama handled that man with his usual aplomb and politeness. I am left however with the question what is the book that the heckler was waving around? Since the man was yelling and interrupting the President, the book must be of vast importance. Clearly the man took his social cues from Horseshack on Welcome Back Kotter. Who knows maybe that book is the key to our nation’s energy policy and we were all too misinformed to realize that he, the heckler, had all the right answers all along. I’m sure that when the President has the book and reads it, he will come to his senses and vindicate the heckler. As usual I was impressed with how well our President handles himself in sticky situations.

Newt Gingrich: Obama’s Trayvon Martin Statement ‘Disgraceful’

Newt Gingrich thank you would so ignorantly pointing out exactly why there is a problem in this country with overt and covert racism. The President should be allowed to make his statement about his experience as a black man without fearing fall out from white people being offended for acting the way that they do towards minorities whether it be conscious or not. As a white mother with a twenty year old son who wears a hoodie, I have never had to worry about him being stopped for anything, my worries have been about the driving, getting a job and paying for college. I cannot imagine the awful sadness and anger that an African-American must feel when she has to speak to her children about how to “be” in public so that they don’t get in danger of offending someone because of that other person’s fear. I imagine that the African-American community must surely ask themselves; how much longer do we have to go through before we can “be” like everyone else and I know that they aren’t the only ones. For a country based on immigration, the established immigrants weren’t very welcoming to any others arriving here looking to fulfill their dreams, the Irish, the Jewish, the Chinese and so on and so forth. Newt however looks so ignorant when he has made it his mission to call attention the the “otherness” of President Obama and yet criticizes him for empathizing with the victim’s family. It’s shameful.
