Tonight at 8:00 the Blandford Historical Society met, I should specify that it was its Board of Directors that met and I am on the Board, I’m the curator. Tonight I took the minutes because our secretary was unavailable and after I tell you guys all about it, I’ll forward her a copy of the minutes that I took while panicking because my pen was failing on me and I have the worst handwriting in the world so hopefully I’ll be able to not only decipher my chicken scratch but also read the faint scratching on the page, I did press really hard.
We started the meeting with our new Vice President of Programs telling us about the first three programs slated for our new year. The first one is coming up quickly, the 22nd of March. I volunteered to make cookies. Our President made a cookie request, oatmeal raisin and another Director asked for chocolate chip, so I’ll be making both.
Next up, we discussed our fundraising for the two historical buggies that we had purchased, we almost repaid our General Fund with those donations, we expressed excitement and happiness with our fundraising capabilities. We then motioned, seconded and voted to pay, not to exceed the sum of 400 dollars, to restore 3 wagon wheels.
We next discussed setting up a sub-committee for Technology which was motioned, seconded and unanimously voted and approved on. The sub-committee is made up of three members.
We also discussed our Genealogy Services and how it generates income for the society from time to time.
After that and more, I can’t divulge all of our secrets, we adjourned and now I have to compose an e-mail for our secretary to give a fully detailed accounting of the actual minutes. I am not the best minutes taker but I tried.
