When I was younger, I only liked milk chocolate. Gradually through the years, my taste buds have broadened their horizons. It was a slow process done in increments, first milk chocolate by itself, then milk chocolate with caramels, followed by crispy rice, followed by peanuts. This was all before my twenties, it was during my thirties that my love of chocolate transitioned away from sweet to more complex flavors such as dark chocolate with hazelnuts, dark chocolate with praline and of course all these fillings taste great with milk chocolate as well. I recommend a visit to Teuscher’s chocolates at Rockefeller Center in N.Y.C. Their chocolates are exquisite and still made by hand.
