Boehner does the easy thing and simply scoffs at the idea. It is extremely easy to do that, scoff at an idea. The harder thing to do but the one that shows clear leadership qualities is to keep trying to find solutions to a problem that continues to plague our economy, the underwater mortgage and foreclosure crisis and that is what our President is doing. The question is how to help distressed underwater mortgage owners especially in light as to how often the banks were non-compliant in the previous attempts and that is high lighted by Bank of America’s behavior and now we have recently learned of how Freddie Mac was betting against homeowners locked into high interest rate mortgages. Letting those mortgage owners wait until the prices reach rock bottom isn’t helping our economy whereas the principle underlying the program designed to help alleviate the economic pain could inject much needed extra money into our still fragile economy.

Are we going to see any meaningful coverage of this outrage on the televised news? I highly doubt it, how in the world can anyone in their right mind want to take the lengths necessary to get natural gas when you may potentially harm the water table. I think that the American people need to be reminded strongly that our water is a precious resource and it isn’t infinite, just like oil we might start running out of naturally pure drinking water. With climate change on the horizon, access to water will increasingly become a hotly contested commodity. This filmmaker is simply exercising his first amendment rights and doing a public service at the same time. The house republicans had no business having him put under arrest.

I called my cousin Francoise today over in France to wish her a happy birthday. She is one of my favorite cousins, she is older than I am by about 12 or 13 years, but we are still close because we get along so well. I admire so much about her, she is incredibly talented in so many areas, cooking, baking, sewing, pottery, photography, re-upholstery and picture matting and framing. The list is very long. I have always aspired to try to be more like her but I don’t have the necessary temperament or as Francoise likes to put it, the compulsive neatness required but that is neither here nor there. I love talking to her and she gave me all the latest news of the family. Her middle daughter gave birth prematurely in December, she wasn’t due until the end of this month but thank the heavens, her daughter and her grandson are mow both fine and healthy and the little baby boy came home today. The month of December was a month of touch and go for her daughter and the baby, the baby came early not because of problems with him but rather problems with my little cousin, the doctor’s saved her life by inducing the baby’s birth and then saving his life. While my cousin was relating the saga, my heart was in my mouth quite a few times. After we both got through the emotional details of that traumatic birth and recovery in the hospital, Francoise tells me that our other cousin Anne, just gave birth to her NINEth baby. That is nine children, without twins, nine live births, can you tell that I am blown away with the idea of going into labor NINE times. Bless my cousin Anne, the whole family doesn’t get how she does it, but boy she is a trooper. So I am excited, two new additions to the family. The more the merrier, my family is doing its job of re-populating France.

inSo far I can't complain, my children are in good health, that first and foremost is a blessing and I remind myself of that daily. We are still in employment limbo but through my husband's small projects, we are still afloat. I am still upright, I am still writing, cooking, baking and come spring, I will be gardening. So as I see it, my husband will get a job and everything will work out and then we will both breath a lot easier and no longer have that perpetual pit in our stomachs.
