Am I watching Masterpiece theatre? No, I am watching the Golden Globes, the start of the Hollywood award season. Supposedly, this the Hollywood industry’s favorite because they are allowed to eat and drink while the show is progressing, a drink here, a speech there and we are all having fun, aren’t we all just grand. The irrepressible Ricky Gervais is hosting again and he seems to be having the best time taking a pin to the star studded bubbles of ego sitting all throughout the room. I am enjoying the show; admiring the gowns, laughing at the zingers that are flying out of Ricky’s mouth, he just comes right out and tells it like it is, how can anyone be offended by his teasing? They are successful in their craft, they make a nice living and are at the top of their game through the grace of their fans so they should be able to take a little ribbing.
