Mitt Romney just argued why we have to have campaign reform laws and we have to get rid of super pacs and Citizens United. The advice that his father gave him, that only the ones who can afford to, should run for political office, severely limits the candidate pool to only those who would travel the same circles, have the same type of upbringing thus reflecting only the sense and sensibilities of a particular class. Serving the public weal calls for more than a good set of math skills and the competitive drive to edge out the other players. Mitt Romney is operating under the old philosophy that if the top tier does great than the rest of us will benefit, it has been proven to not work and he hasn’t offered any alternate plan or strategic economic model so for me a vote for Romney is a vote against mainstream America.
