Payroll Tax Cut Fight: Showdown Tests Obama, GOP

What Boehner and his fellow GOP house members fail to grasp is that our economy, though showing tiny signs of growing, is still in a precarious state. Come January 1 2012, when the paychecks are smaller and the unemployme­nt benefits disappear, that will result in a lot of money yanked out of our consumeris­t economy and demand will decrease once more. Moreover with Europe still showing signs of an impending recession due to their own currency troubles and China dealing with its own real estate bubble, now is not the time for the GOP to show their unflagging devotion to a class that can afford a 1.5% surtax on their income, and the saddest part is, that isn’t even the issue, the house is saying that the time table and the manner in which the payroll tax cut is offset are both unacceptab­le and thus too bad working people, your paychecks will be smaller but never fear the “job creators” will be fine and that is what matters.

I am a Leo however I consider my self to be a faux Leo. I am tame compared to the traditional description assigned to the Leo fire sign. My hair can be called a mane without fear of exaggeration, that characteristic falls within the Leo realm. Other than that, I don't put much stock in astrological signs and it's field, I don't see any relevance to my life because I don't feel that my sign really describes me.

What are some possible New Year’s resolutions for you this year?

I’ve already answered that I intend to finish my first attempt at a novel. After I finish the writing, I also intend to do the editing and then the research involved to get my novel published.

Outside of writing, I am hopeful for a trip to France this coming summer, 2012. Other than those two goals, I can’t think of anything else.
