I’m pretty sure that we will start seeing facilitators reaching out to the media, we have already seen two protestors on the Colbert Nation and their message was well delivered. It seems that everyone is in a rush to push this movements in all kinds of direction, it is an organic movement and an experiment with direct democracy and consensus building, I wonder if the movements across the nation are communicating together to see what ideas and strategies that they have in common and can share amongst each other. I agree that the movement should communicate with the public that violence is not being condoned by the protestors and that they are dealing with respect to public and private property and the police. We need this movement desperately and it is sad that there are segments of the “99” who don’t see that.

It seems that this is all part and parcel of a GOP controlled House and a democratic held White House and vice versa, Reagan with the Iran/Contra affair, Clinton with White Water and The Intern, what gets me is that Darrell Issa himself had deals going with the D.O.E for loans to green tech companies as did McConnell for companies in his state of Kentucky so the fact that they are making hay over Solyendra is a bit much. We have much more important things on the table, now that we have had the GOP reaffirm our nation’s motto I’m sure that we can all get down to business together and solve all our problems.

How do we battle bad science?

I believe that there isn’t any such thing as bad science, only bad scientists. Science is about numbers, calculations, equations and theories. The foundation of good science is the absence of ego and an agenda. Science is objective therefore it cannot be bad only the person practicing science can be good or bad. A good scientist follows where the science leads, whereas a bad scientist leads the science where he or she want it to be, thereby manipulating it.

The only way that I can think of, to battle bad science is to continue to have all scientists do what they do best, continuously test and re-test all theories. That is another basis of science, a good theory will survive repeat testing under all conditions. Bad theories can’t withstand rigorous testing, a good scientist would be fine with that because that is the whole point of science, not really the results themselves, but how well the theory holds up to testing.

Eventually, good solid theories and experiments will always win out, it might just take longer than usual because of the distractions of those scientists attempting to influence the numbers and equations in their favor or to prove their theory.
