
I will admit that this payroll tax cut makes me nervous for the safety of social security and it doesn’t matter if it is from the employer side or the employee side, because any cut makes the self-financing program that much weaker. I understand the cuts from the employee side do put more money in his/her pocket and that will have a stimulative effect on the economy, as making it cheaper to hire someone could also work if both are in play at the same time. I still don’t like it, because give the GOP any ammo against social security and they will run with it. That said, this is an excellent illustration of how the GOP only cares about the “haves”. The tax cuts for the rich which costs us as a nation, at least 1.4 trillion, but that is okay. They are saying that the tax cuts for people who are struggling will cost 120 billion and that is too expensive. Their excuse is that not all tax cuts are equal. You interpret that as you will.
