Skate Grenobloise

Sweetbreads prepared a la Grenobloise. Sweetbreads are the veal' s thyroid and they are delicious. When they are lightly breaded and sauteed until a light golden brown, they are than pulled off the flame and set aside on a plate. You then take the pan and deglaze it with white wine and then whip some butter into the developing sauce you then add capers and chopped parsley. This delicious sauce then gets spooned onto the sweetbreads and Bon appetit.

Since when is a “gotcha question unfair? When running for a position of extreme importance and responsibility, it should be expected for a candidate to be prepared to answer the toughest questions. Reality doesn’t soften its blow just because you are ill prepared. Reality itself is the world’s biggest gotcha and if you want the American people to take you seriously than do not go crying to other journalists about a gotcha question. It immediately proves that you do not have the intestinal fortitude to become President. If you cannot even manage your campaign staff how can you manage your cabinet members?

Obama Told To Call Congress Back From Recess, Despite The Fact That Americans Have No Faith In Congress

The last place that congress needs to be is in Washington, they need to be at home in their districts and they need to be tied to their chair so that their constituents can sit down and tell them exactly what they need to hear. IT”S NOT ABOUT THE DEFICITS STUPID. IT”S ALL ABOUT THE LACK OF GOOD JOBS RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW. If that is the only message that they take back with them to Washington, I can live with that. We are desperate for JOBS.

Rep. Cory Gardner Tells Constituent Concerned About Outsourcing To Just Find A New Employer

These surreal moments are getting to be too commonplace for my taste. If someone could gather up all the video from these town hall meetings throughout the country and simply play the GOP lawmakers interactions with their constituents, I think that it would be a season long’s worth of a blooper reel. At least we would get some entertainment value for all our misery at their hands. I’m surprised the constituent didn’t tell him that pretty soon he’d be looking for another employer and to start primping his resume. Speaking of which, if Rep. Gardner did get unemployed he’d probably simply go through the revolving door that exists in D.C and get a job with his lobbyist buddies. It simply stinks to high heaven.

A Fear I'm Working to Overcome

Short Story Writing Workshop

I have a few fears that need to be worked on, one is a fear of rejection. I am actively working on trying to move past it by writing everyday and publishing my thoughts onto WordPress.com and also sharing the posts on Facebook for whomever is curious to see and read. It is difficult sometimes because I share personal pieces of myself with both strangers and with friends and family. Oddly enough, sharing my personal stories with strangers is easier than when I know my friends and family may read something intensely personal and perhaps judge me or think that I'm reacting in a way that they don't understand or like. By writing, I'm hoping that I will eventually get the self-assurance that I've been searching for all my life.

Are you driven by your head or by your heart?

This question often comes up in fiction, either in books or on t.v. One of my favorite shows, “Bones”, shows the dichotomy of being led by the head versus being led by the heart in the dynamic existing between the two main characters, Dr. Brennan, who is driven by rationality to the extreme and Agent Booth who, in contrast, is driven by his heart and instinct. Neither one nor the other is shown as “better”, rather they are used very effectively as the contrast needed to highlight the differences that separate yet also compliment the characters’ unique relationship with each other.

Perhaps in passing, I might have asked myself that question in relation to myself and my approach to life and its myriad of problems and dilemmas, but I have never answered myself. I don’t believe that I am driven by just one facet or the other. I think that I am driven by both my head and my heart equally. It’s been so long however, since I’ve made a decision that affected only myself. Being in a marriage for soon to be twenty-one years, all the big decisions have been made by both my husband and myself. Some of them may have been emotional but there was also common sense involved and those two facets had equal weight in our decisions. I can see how you might decide something in the spur of the moment but I usually throw the brakes on and think about clinically for a bit to make sure that the decision is a sound one for both the head and the heart. Usually, if one part isn’t happy, the other part won’t be either. At least for myself, if something doesn’t sit right in my head, then it won’t sit right in my heart. I can’t see how it can be one or the other and not both in harmony.
