I don’t know if I can honestly say that I’ve ever had a best idea. I am mostly a reactionary person. Most everything good in my life has come from a reaction to something, not something original from me. My home is a case in point, I didn’t think of this on my own, my desire for my home was to escape from living in my mother-in-law’s house. I wasn’t like my mother who always wanted a house, herself, and she did everything to achieve that goal.

I can say the same for writing, it was more of a reaction to seeing something that I was intrigued by, a blog featured on WordPress.com. I happened across the blog, The only adult in the room, in another site as a link, and I was fascinated by the blog and its home at WordPress.com. I explored WordPress, set up my own blog site and subscribed to postaday2011. I didn’t initiate this on my own, it was a response to something I saw. I am so happy that I took the time to look into it, everyday I look forward to writing about something new and it has done wonders for my psyche. I have worked out a lot of stress with my blog and I have met a lot of really nice and interesting fellow writers. It might not have been an original idea on my part, but I’m glad I found the idea and ran with it.

I don’t think that not having a great idea on my own is necessarily a bad thing, it’s not as if I close myself off from exploring things if I see a great idea from someone else. I adapt and make it my own, fashion it to suit my own personal style. I have absolutely no problem giving credit to where credit is due, I’m always happy to reap the benefits from applying the great idea in my own life.
