No, I would not consider it in the least because the price is simply too high, not only for yourself, but for your entire family. When I say that the price is too high, I am not referring to the work itself, but rather the intrusion into all aspects of your life for the sole purpose of digging away at any secrets, real or imagined, that could give a media news outlet a leg up on the competition.Heaven forbid, if you have ever had to overcome a personal problem or someone within your family had to deal with a demon or two. Often times, periods of adversity can build character and make you a better and stronger person. Unfortunately, in the United States, any type of flaw or defect even if dealt with in a mature and responsible way, is the kiss of death in politics. Now, that I’ve briefly addressed the cruel and violating manner potential candidates are treated by the media news organizations, it is time to move on to the other obstacle that would effectively bar myself from even contemplating running for President.

The great financial contest is whose campaign war chest is the largest. To effectively run for President in the United States, you need to be able to access several hundreds of millions of dollars. If you can’t establish the contacts necessary to help develop a network designed exclusively for monetary contributions and donation, your campaign isn’t going anywhere. Unless you can organize a grass-roots organization, the size of the one that helped propel President Obama to the White House, you will be out of luck. President Obama’s grass root organization was primarily centered around social media, which is still an alternative to your standard fund-raising., the odds of one person duplicating that success is still slim to none.

I’d rather do my job as a citizen and exercise my right and duty to vote and stay involved through reading and commenting. I don’t have that special “thing” that is required to not only be President but even contemplating running for President. It requires a special mental and emotional focus, discipline and ability to compartmentalize that I do not possess.
