Beans, all beans except for fava beans. I like them because they don't taste like an ordinary bean. I know that beans are one of the most nutritious foods on the planet but I don't like them, except in my husband's 5 star chili. He makes the all time best chili in the world. Outside of his chili, I just can't get my taste buds to accept them and like them.
One of the things that I had always wished that I could have learned as a small child is a musical instrument. We didn’t have enough money when I was young to be able to afford music lessons, let alone a musical instrument and music wasn’t offered in my grammar school. By the time I got to high school, I didn’t even think about it because I thought that I was too old to really learn how to play and besides, it wasn’t that much of a passion of mine.
Now don’t get me wrong, I love music and I can play a mean air guitar, air drums and air piano. But I have never embarked on the fantasy music tour with a band. I know that I can’t sing, I know the lyrics of countless songs and can sing along in my head quite nicely but that’s about it. Heck, I don’t even sing in the shower, I might break a mirror. Now, my son is in a band, it’s a hard-core alternative rock band called “Tempting the Sirens” or that was the name of the band. They just changed the name and I can’t quite recall it, it has something to do with a ship and perhaps destiny, I don’t know, but my son is musically inclined and my husband and I made sure that both of our children had musical lessons for whichever musical instrument they’d like. So, they both had piano lessons, guitar lessons and my son had drum lessons while my daughter had the clarinet lessons.
As I said in the beginning, I regret not having learned at an early age, and I don’t know if that would have spurred me on to want to have a musical band. I kind of doubt it, because I don’t feel any unrequited passion burning in my soul for music. I know that I love listening to music like millions of others and I’m very happy to have others fill their need for a musical outlet through creating a band. I’ll play my role as an audience member while they strut their stuff on stage because even though I’m not on stage, my job is equally as important as theirs, because without me and others like me, who would they play to?
This is futile, the value of everything is driven by the PERCEPTION of its value. This applies to everything under the sun. If enough people lose faith in the dollar, then gold will continue to increase in value. If say, the the People’s Budget wins the day, and the United States adopts a sane plan to responsibly manage its financial responsibilities and decrease its deficits while protecting its social safety nets and its middle class and poor, the perception will reverse and investors would put their faith in the strength of the U.S. government as opposed to gold. We have seen the dangerous outcome when a select few can manipulate perceptions in order to achieve a desired outcome which for them was more wealth and the rest of us the economic meltdown of 2008. Playing a game of chicken with our country’s monetary policy without really knowing or understanding the larger picture can’t be a prudent path to follow. These policies make me nervous.

You can take what the author states about the fall in hourly wages even further, tha,t if that is the case foreign investors will start investing and building manufacturing plants in the United States to benefit from the third world wages they will be able to pay and our workers will be happy to take it, since the current House leadership is intent on legislating everything but JOBS for the American people. This is an abomination, first our jobs get taken away and when they do come back it’s a grand half off sale at the expense of the worker and to the profit of the corporation. What do the manufacturing unions say about all this? Oh right, their numbers have severely dwindled so I don’t know how much influence they can exert at this time. What are the politicians saying about this? It’s been pretty quiet on this topic since it doesn’t relate to women’s reproductive rights and spending cuts and immigration laws. There are so many issues that we have to pay attention to, it is mind boggling.
